Club Communication / Website release following NI Executive Roadmap today
The NCU welcomes today's announcement from the NI Executive, which will see a gradual return to action for domestic cricket in Northern Ireland, as part of plans to ease current COVID-19 restrictions.

Cricket Ireland is seeking a new Independent Non-Executive Director to join the Cricket Ireland Board for an initial three-year term.

NIACUS Umpire Training Course Announced
NIACUS will be running a Stage one training course via Zoom, on the following dates:
    4th, 11th & 18th March.
The course will start at 7pm and run through until 9pm each evening.

NCU Club Update - 24th December 2020
Updates on: Fixtures 2021, Twenty20 Competitions, Coloured Clothing, Cup Final Venues 2021 and a few other things.

NCU AGM 2020
The NCU AGM was held on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.
Because of the Covid restrictions the meeting was held by Zoom with advance voting by proxy.
The Chairman, Sam Beckett advised of the outcome of elections and other voting.

Downpatrick CC to play in Section 2 in 2021
Downpatrick recently contacted the Union to advise that they were faced with a number of senior players leaving the club.

NCU & Cricket Ireland Announce Tildenet Club Affinity Scheme
The Northern Cricket Union and Cricket Ireland in association with Tildenet – Official Nets and Covers Supplier to Cricket Ireland – have arranged an offer for all clubs

Games & Skills for Cricket Coaches
Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, we are unable to deliver our usual cricket activity programme to our school partners.  However, with the support of the Department for Communities and Community Sports Network, we have created a coaching manual called 'Games & Skills for Cricket Coaches'.

A change in government legislation regarding data protection called The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be in place from 25th May 2018.

Clarification on a couple of the NCU's Bye-Laws
The Domestic Cricket Directorate have provided the following clarification on two of the bye-laws.

NCU Domestic Youth Guidance
The NCU Domestic Directorate have created guidance and information for Under 11 / 13 / 15 domestic cricket for the 2019 season.

Young Cricketers Playing In Adult Cricket
The Domestic Cricket Directorate has reaffirmed the ruling on young cricketers playing in adult cricket.

NCU 2019 Grounds Report
The NCU Grounds Committee has compiled the club ground gradings in accordance with Competition Rule A35.

NCU Publish new Development Plan for 2014-18
The Northern Cricket Union (NCU) has published its new Development plan covering the years 2014-2018. In announcing its publication President Billy Boyd and Chairman Andy Clement commented that they hoped that, post publication, the new Development Plan will provide fresh impetus for all those involved in NCU cricket.

Coloured clothing will be used in the following competitions:
Challenge Cup, Irish Senior Cup, National Trophy, Ulster Cup, Ulster Shield, Twenty20 Cup, Twenty20 Trophy.

Predominantly white clothing will be used in the following competitions:
All League Competitions, Junior, Intermediate, Minor and Minor Qualifying Cups, Ulster Plate, Twenty20 Shield.

Volunteering in Sport
Volunteering is an ideal way to get involved in sport, develop new skills and stay engaged in a sport. It can be a rewarding activity which helps you to meet new people and take on new challenges through roles such as coaching or administration.

The wide range of opportunities to get involved in sports volunteering includes:

  • organising events and competitions

Depending on your individual skills or interests, you can offer to volunteer in any of the above areas. Some of the most important attributes include enthusiasm and interest.
