Agonising Defeat For NIACUS As White Stick Trophy Returns South
The NIACUS (Northern Ireland Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers) side which had reclaimed the White Stick trophy last season had to hand it straight back to their colleagues from Leinster after snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in an exciting encounter at Comber on Saturday 26th September.

From NCU Chairman, Andy Clement: On behalf of the NCU, I would like to publicly acknowledge that a mistake was made in the calculation of Net Run Rate (NRR) in relation to the matches involving Laurelvale CC during the season just ended.

NCU Annual Dinner - Booking Details
The Union's Annual Dinner will be held on Saturday 10th October 2015 in the Clayton Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn), Ormeau Avenue, Belfast. The cost of the Dinner is £32 per place and places may be booked by forwarding the correct payment toNCU General Secretary Bryan Milford.

Waringstown Clinch Irish Senior Cup With 107 Run Win Over Merrion
Waringstown won the Irish Senior Cup for the fourth time in their history with a convincing 107 run win over Merrion at the Lawn. South African professional JP De Villiers proved the trump card for Lee Nelson's men - his new ball burst saw Merrion crumble to 35 for 5 as they chased Waringstown's imposing total of 276 for 7.

The Access NI application process is now available online. Access NI is the criminal history disclosure service for Northern Ireland which provides different levels of information about individuals.

Belfast Coaching Camp proves huge success for over 40 young cricketers
The Belfast Coaching Camp which was recently hosted by Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNI) proved a huge success with 39 boys and two girls aged 11-17 taking part. The camp was led by former High Performance Director of Cricket at Cricket Ireland, Mark Garaway, who was accompanied by an array of the finest coaches in the NCU.

Woodvale Win The O'Neill's 2015 Ulster Shield To Maintain The NCU's Winning Streak
Farhan Saeed smashed an unbeaten 48 from just 27 balls as Woodvale beat Fox Lodge by five wickets to claim the O'Neills Ulster Shield in a pulsating encounter at Carrickfergus and maintain the NCU's domination of this competition. Saaed clubbed five sixes - including three in an over from Gareth Heywood - as Woodvale won with six balls to spare.

NIACUS - Captain's Umpire Report 2015
The Irish Association of Cricket Umpires & Scorers (IACUS) in conjunction with Cricket Ireland are introducing a new all Ireland Umpire Grading Structure across the various Inter-provincial Unions. This will ultimately ensure one accepted Grading system against which all umpires will be assessed.
From the start of this season, NCU Club Captains will be able to electronically access the new umpire assessment form, which will be received automatically by the NIACUS Grading contact.

NCU Publish new Development Plan for 2014-18
The Northern Cricket Union (NCU) has published its new Development plan covering the years 2014-2018. In announcing its publication President Billy Boyd and Chairman Andy Clement commented that they hoped that, post publication, the new Development Plan will  provide fresh impetus for all those involved in NCU cricket.

Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) launches positive parental behaviour in sport toolkit
Parents often play a vital part in supporting their children to take part in sport.
They play many positive roles and are often the backbone of sports activities at a local level.
However many sports organisations and clubs have struggled to address the problem of poor parental/spectator behaviour in junior sport.

Junior Cricketers playing in Adult Matches
The NCU Development Directorate wish to remind clubs of the ECB guidance covering the participation of young cricketers in adult matches.
This guidance has been adopted by the Union.
Under 13 cricketers - Explicit written consent from a parent or guardian is required before participating in an adult match.
Under 11 cricketers - Explicit prior approval must be sought through me before the player can play.

Player Clothing 2015
Coloured clothing will be used in the following competitions:
Challenge Cup, Irish Senior Cup, National Trophy, Ulster Cup, Ulster Shield, Twenty20 Cup, Twenty20 Trophy.

Predominantly white clothing will be used in the following competitions:
All League Competitions, Junior, Intermediate, Minor and Minor Qualifying Cups, Ulster Plate, Twenty20 Shield.
