The Northern Knights Squad to face the North West Warriors in the 3 day Hanley Energy IP Championship from 24th-26th May at The Meadow, Downpatrick CC has been announced.

Warriors Get Tangled In Knights' Web Of Spin (Hanley Energy IP50 Cup)
The Northern Knights recorded their second Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial Cup win of the month against the North West Warriors following a rain-affected 3-run verdict over Bobby Rao's men at Coleraine. Andy McBrine won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first, but it was to be a patchy innings that was eventually reduced to 39 overs after several interruptions for poor weather.

Anderson stars as Lightning blitz Knights (Hanley Energy T20 Trophy)
John Anderson's blistering half-century was the catalyst for Leinster Lightning's comprehensive 53 run win in the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy against the Northern Knights at Sydney Parade. The Merrion all-rounder smashed 61 from just 36 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) as Leinster piled up an imposing 168 for 6 in their 20 overs.

Ulster Bank Schools First Round Update
Campbell College's second string caused the big upset in the first round of the Ulster Bank Schools Cup with a convincing win over Limavady Grammar School.

First Steps on an Umpiring Career
Young Oliver Thorpe from Muckamore CC took his first step on the ladder of his umpiring career on Saturday, the opening day of the 2015 NCU season. Oliver is just 16 and, by a long way, the youngest member of NIACUS.

NIACUS - Captain's Umpire Report 2015
The Irish Association of Cricket Umpires & Scorers (IACUS) in conjunction with Cricket Ireland are introducing a new all Ireland Umpire Grading Structure across the various Inter-provincial Unions. This will ultimately ensure one accepted Grading system against which all umpires will be assessed.
From the start of this season, NCU Club Captains will be able to electronically access the new umpire assessment form, which will be received automatically by the NIACUS Grading contact.

NCU Publish new Development Plan for 2014-18
The Northern Cricket Union (NCU) has published its new Development plan covering the years 2014-2018. In announcing its publication President Billy Boyd and Chairman Andy Clement commented that they hoped that, post publication, the new Development Plan will  provide fresh impetus for all those involved in NCU cricket.

Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) launches positive parental behaviour in sport toolkit
Parents often play a vital part in supporting their children to take part in sport.
They play many positive roles and are often the backbone of sports activities at a local level.
However many sports organisations and clubs have struggled to address the problem of poor parental/spectator behaviour in junior sport.

Junior Cricketers playing in Adult Matches
The NCU Development Directorate wish to remind clubs of the ECB guidance covering the participation of young cricketers in adult matches.
This guidance has been adopted by the Union.
Under 13 cricketers - Explicit written consent from a parent or guardian is required before participating in an adult match.
Under 11 cricketers - Explicit prior approval must be sought through me before the player can play.

Player Clothing 2015
Coloured clothing will be used in the following competitions:
Challenge Cup, Irish Senior Cup, National Trophy, Ulster Cup, Ulster Shield, Twenty20 Cup, Twenty20 Trophy.

Predominantly white clothing will be used in the following competitions:
All League Competitions, Junior, Intermediate, Minor and Minor Qualifying Cups, Ulster Plate, Twenty20 Shield.
